Surface, hand, and construction

The interlock weighs 210 GSM, is medium in thickness, and has a dense structure. Both sides of the knit have a smooth, matte appearance. Black suits monochromatic combinations as well as pairings with white, gray, or vivid red. You can also choose thread in a similar shade, leaving the broad area of knit to play the leading role. For gathering, assess the arrangement on a piece similar in size to the planned section.

Stretch and shape recovery

Polyamide fibers account for 80% of the composition, and spandex for 20%. The interlock stretches extensively in two directions and returns to shape well. Resilient shape recovery remains important even when the knit is stretched repeatedly.

Drape, opacity, and comfort

Cutting, sewing, and finishing

When planning a multilayer finish, sew a small sample and assess how the hem lies. When combining several black fabrics, comparing actual samples is particularly useful: differences in surface affect the overall appearance of the combination. In fitted pieces, this stretch must be considered when choosing the pattern. Seams and finishes should allow the fabric's stretch to be used, so test both the stitch and how the layers feed on a scrap before sewing. The depth of folds and the number of layers where they are secured affect the finish's appearance. The 160 cm width provides room to position larger pieces along with small elements. During cutting, support the fabric along the entire working length so it remains freely spread out. Pattern requirements and the knit's stretch determine the direction in which pieces are positioned.

Care and durability

The fabric retains its shape and color after washing and has low shrinkage. It resists frequent washing, abrasion, and permanent distortion. The anti-pilling finish limits pill formation, while a low tendency to wrinkle helps maintain a smooth appearance.
