This aquamarine knit has a soft, delicate, resilient hand. It is dense, compact, and medium in thickness. The smooth, matte surface provides opacity. The fabric drapes well and falls fluidly and softly while maintaining stability and shape.

The delicate feel of a French terry blend

The composition is 97% cotton with 3% spandex, at a weight of 280 GSM. The sweatshirt knit feels pleasant against the skin. The loops visible on the sweatshirt knit's underside, or wrong side, have a different texture from the smooth outer side. Compare them on a sample of the planned turnback. A folded edge also allows you to assess the thickness and feel of seam allowances, particularly where several pieces join.

Stretch and a fluid line

The fabric is stretchy and recovers its original shape well. Before selecting a style, check the swatch's stretch against the pattern's requirements. A larger section shows the arrangement of soft folds and the way it falls. The knit remains stable. In a test seam with trim, assess the joined layers' stretch, then after tension is released, see how the edge and loop-closing point lie.

Aquamarine against understated colors

Aquamarine can be paired with white, cream, or navy blue. For a similarly shaded trim, compare swatches side by side in natural light. Ribbing and a smooth matte surface introduce a texture difference. Year-round uses include sweatpants, blouses, bathrobes, hats, and children's clothing. For softly falling pieces, assess the hemline. For finishes against the skin, check the entire join's softness, including after folding seam allowances.

Laying out the section and testing a corner

The knit is 170 cm wide. Before cutting, lay the fabric loosely on the table, supporting the remaining section as well. Include allowances and smaller components in the pattern layout. Prepare a corner sample with the same number of layers as in the finished design. Inspect the join on both sides to assess stitch placement and seam allowance arrangement. This test makes it easier to choose the edge width. For an edge trim, also check the thickness of its closing seam, then compare that area's feel with a straight section.

Color and shape during use

A silicone finish has been applied. The knit stands up well to frequent washing, retaining its color and shape. It resists pilling and abrasion, as well as distortion and stretching out. It has low shrinkage and a low tendency to wrinkle. For regular use, you can therefore consider both surface durability and dimensional retention.
