The brown French terry has a very substantial hand and a smooth, matte surface. It is thick but soft to the touch. The looped underside differs in texture from the right side. The fabric retains its shape and stability, while a large piece drapes gently under its own weight.

Softness and knit construction

The fabric is made from 100% cotton. The weight is 580 GSM. The compact construction gives the French terry noticeable weight and a substantial hand. It provides full opacity and pleasant contact with the skin. For hems, check the thickness of several layers. A trial fold at a seam intersection will show how the edge lies and help match the finish width to the fabric's body.

Brown and the texture of the wrong side

The smooth matte surface can be paired with a cream, beige, or navy accessory. When combining different browns, view samples side by side in natural light. Ribbing will display color differently from the French terry surface. The French terry's construction creates loops on the underside. If they will be visible in a turnback, assess this detail on a sample, comparing both sides in the planned proportions.

Fabric behavior, cutting, and preparation for sewing

The knit is non-stretch. Ease for putting it on and moving should be planned into the cut by checking circumferences and openings before cutting. Its thickness also matters when several layers overlap. The fabric holds its shape well and is intended for year-round use. It can be sewn into pants, sweatshirts, bathrobes, and children's wardrobe pieces. The gentle touch should also be retained at seams touching the skin. A test join will allow both the thickness and arrangement of the finish to be checked. With more layers, reproduce the entire edge section to assess it from both sides. Care and durability

The French terry has a silicone finish. It retains its color and shape well after washing and has low shrinkage. A low tendency to wrinkle makes a smooth appearance easier to maintain. The fabric resists frequent washing, abrasion, pilling, and distortion. Resistance to stretching out is useful when the knit moves regularly during use.
