Softness and knit construction

The French terry weighing 340 GSM is made of 100% cotton. It has a thick, compact construction, a soft hand, and full opacity. It also remains gentle and pleasant against the skin. Its noticeable weight and thickness matter when several layers overlap. A test hem will show how the edge lies at a seam intersection. A larger piece allows you to assess softness and how the edge falls under the fabric's own weight.

A smooth surface in a bold color

Amaranth violet pairs well with navy, charcoal, and cream. Assess the proportions of the bold color by placing larger samples side by side. The matte appearance showcases the color, while ribbed trim introduces a change in texture. The wrong side of the knit features the loops found on the wrong side of French terry. In an exposed turnback, they will be visible alongside the smooth side, so test this detail before sewing.

Fabric behavior, cutting, and sewing preparation

The knit is stable and nonstretch, so when choosing a pattern, account for the required ease and the sizes of openings through which the finished piece will be put on. The fabric holds its shape well, but fit should come from the cut. It is intended for year-round use and is suitable for sweats, children's clothing, and bathrobes, among other uses. For narrow pieces, remember the direction in which they will move during use. Make the sewing test with the number of layers that will occur at the join. This allows you to assess the edge thickness and its feel on the inside.

Care and durability

The fabric has a silicone finish and resists abrasion, pilling, and distortion. It stands up well to frequent washing, retaining its color and shape afterward. Low shrinkage supports dimensional stability, while a low tendency to wrinkle makes care easier. Resistance to stretching out complements the knit's durability during regular use.
