HEAVY COTTON DIAGONAL FRENCH TERRY FABRIC - YELLOW

The yellow cotton French terry is dense, thick, and substantial. It has a very soft hand and a smooth matte surface. This fabric is opaque, gentle against the skin, and stable. It drapes softly and retains its shape when spread out freely as well.

A full cotton construction

Cotton accounts for 100% of the composition, and the weight is 450 GSM. The diagonal French terry construction creates different textures on the right and wrong sides. The underside is worth viewing beside the smooth surface when planning a turnback. At hems, the bulk of several layers will matter, especially at seam intersections. Reproducing such an area on a sample will make it easier to assess edge thickness and width before sewing the whole garment.

Soft drape with slight stretch

The fabric is slightly stretchy. Style selection should consider the actual sample's movement as well as the ease needed for putting on the garment and moving. A larger length allows the softness of the drape and shape retention to be viewed. Stability is also visible when it is laid on the table. Make a sewing test with the intended number of layers and trim to check the entire join's movement and arrangement after relaxing it.

Yellow on a matte surface

Yellow can be paired with cream, navy, or light gray. When choosing a trim, compare color proportions on broader samples rather than only a narrow scrap. Ribbing will show a different texture from smooth French terry. The fabric has year-round uses, including sweatshirts, pants, bathrobes, and children's clothing. At edges touching the skin, check the feel of the seam on the inside, especially where several allowances overlap.

Pattern layout on freely spread fabric

The knit is 140 cm wide. Position larger and smaller pieces with seam allowances included. During measuring, the fabric should rest naturally, supported beyond the table as well. At finishes, pay attention to where several layers meet. Making a sample of these areas will make it easier to assess the finished join's thickness and softness. For a narrow finishing strip, check its folded proportions beside a larger piece of the thick knit.

Retaining color and dimensions after washing

The French terry has a silicone finish. It stands up well to frequent washing and retains its shape and color afterward. It has low shrinkage and a low tendency to wrinkle. Resistance to pilling and abrasion supports surface durability, while resistance to stretching out and distortion helps maintain shape. These qualities are useful in regular use of soft sweatshirt knit.
